Hamilton Standard Propeller Blade from a Douglas DC3/C47 “Dakota”.

Commonly known as the “needle type” blade, these were commonly in use right from the start of production of the DC3 and later on modified variants of these blades were used with de-icing boots which could prevent ice forming on them in bad conditions.

Unlike the paddle type of propeller blade used on the military aircraft these have a very sleek featherlike/art deco appearance to them and really are a stunning type of blade

The DC3/C47 is arguably one of the most significant transport aircraft ever made and has been extensively used as a transport aircraft and airliner since the 1930s to present day.

As usual with propellers from Aeroart, this prop has been chemically stripped to remove all the paint and then painstakingly polished on both sides to a mirror finish, it has undergone 18 stages of sanding and five stages of polishing to achieve a perfect flawless finish.

Shown here mounted on our custom base finished in "Aquamarine Blue”  with a polished aluminium and brass top.  Colour of base can be changed to most standard colours, please enquire for details.
